This month I thought I would talk about cleansing. We all know we should clean our skin and there are many reasons why it is so important. After cleansing your skin should not feel dry and tight, if it does it may be a good idea to rethink your cleansing routine.
 
A good cleanse will -

1. Remove impurities

2. Prevent breakouts by unblocking pores

3. Enhance the skins radiance by removing dead skin cells

4. Manage pH levels

5. Prepares the skin for skin care, you don’t want to put your lovely products on dead cells that will just fall off, you want them to feed the fresh cells underneath.

6. Slow the ageing process by removing dead skin cells and encourage healthy cell turnover.

In the morning your skin may only need a single cleanse – this will depend on your skin, oily skin may need a pre-cleanse. 

We hear about double cleanse and pre-cleanse, these really just refer to the cleansers used. The double cleanse is popular in Korean beauty and is ideal for those wearing make-up and with balanced skin. The first cleanser used is usually a richer cleanser such as Tropics Smoothing Cleanser which will break down make-up, SPF and other impurities before using a water – based cleanser like Tropics Clarifying Cleanser or Hydrating Cleanser.

The pre-cleanse is ideal for those with dull or congested skin.
